The cost of planning, designing, building and launching a website is all over the board – cheap, expensive and downright ridiculous. You could take the same scope document to three different agencies and get estimates anywhere from a few thousand dollars to fifty thousand dollars or more. We’ve prepared a quick “buying guide” that will hopefully give you some helpful (and insightful) information about what you can expect to pay (and not overpay) for a website.

1. Landing Page / Micro-site: $1-5k


A landing page or micro-site can be as simple as a single html page or as complex as a fully-functional 4-5 page wordpress website. Depending on the scope, you can expect to pay between $1,000 and $5,000 for these types of websites. Smaller agencies or freelancers will only charge a few thousand whereas larger agencies will be in the higher range. We recommend specifically detailing your exact needs to determine if a landing page or micro-site will accomplish your goals.

2. Standard Website: $5-25k


A standard business website is usually 10-50 pages with more complexity and content than a micro-site. It’s usually built on a content management system (CMS) so businesses can manage their own content without having to pay an agency or developer. While the range is a bit larger, you’ll commonly see standard business websites in the $5,000 to $25,000 price range. That range is largely dependent upon scope and size of agency.

3. Advanced Website: $25K+


An advanced website has very specific scope requirements that include custom and/or unique workflows, integrations and frameworks. These types of websites require an extended timeframe and higher cost due to their specific requirements and scope. You can pay anywhere from $25,000 to over $100,000 for advanced websites.
